Plan, coordinate, and supervise the daily activities of assigned departments, such as QA and Sanitation, to ensure efficient operations. Responsible for ensuring all tasks performed by associates and others are performed safely, efficiently, and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, and Reliability (SQR), aligning with our Customer 1st strategy. Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years of sanitation experience
- Thorough knowledge of department operations and procedures
- Basic math and computer skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to understand complex instructions
- Ability to write brief reports and log documentation
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a discipline supporting food manufacturing operations
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing plant
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing practices
Key Responsibilities
- Support and participate in the plant's safety process
- Oversee daily activities of the assigned shift, relying on a high degree of concentration and knowledge of the operations process, and communicate effectively with managers, leads, and associates
- Oversee sensitive cleaning practices to ensure micro-sensitive compliance according to sanitation practices and quality standards
- Plan, coordinate, and advise department associates on daily work tasks
- Oversee daily setup of machinery and equipment prior to production for efficiency
- Monitor sanitation processes to ensure compliance with food safety standards
- Resolve operation problems during the shift
- Monitor the performance of department associates to ensure adherence to safety and sanitation standards
- Provide daily verbal and written reports to the leadership team and relevant personnel, ensuring proper documentation
- Inspect equipment and facilities for cleanliness, perform micro testing, and maintain environmental testing programs
- Facilitate or schedule regular communication meetings with department associates
- Provide training to develop associates and ensure adherence to regulatory standards
- Give feedback on performance related to department and plant goals
- Supervise and coach direct reports, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback
- Follow programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods meeting regulatory and company standards
