Job summary

Rothe is seeking a Metrology Technician IV to support our Calibration and Metrology operations at our Webster, Texas headquarters. This is a senior technical position, proficient in all calibration areas with minimal supervision in the lab or at customer sites.

The role supports an ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI Z540 accredited lab serving NASA, commercial space, defense, energy, and healthcare customers. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is available, with relocation assistance considered case-by-case.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience in calibration or a related field.
• Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• On-the-job training; proficient in all areas of calibration performed in the lab.

Founded in 1967, Rothe is a mission-critical infrastructure and engineering company supporting federal agencies, commercial space, energy, and healthcare markets. Our ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI Z540 accredited calibration laboratory serves NASA, commercial space, defense, energy, and healthcare customers.

Rothe is hiring metrology technicians right now. Our Houston area calibration laboratory is expanding across every technician level, we review applications daily, we interview on a rolling basis, and we are ready to move quickly for qualified candidates. Every technician position in the lab is eligible for a sign-on bonus, and relocation assistance is considered on a case-by-case basis.

Job Description:

The Metrology Technician IV is the senior technical position in Rothe's ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI Z540 accredited Metrology Calibration Laboratory, proficient in all areas of calibration performed in the lab and requiring minimal supervision in the lab or at customer sites. In addition to performing repairs and calibrations, this position generates uncertainty budgets, creates calibration procedures for new equipment, and recommends improvements to current procedures and methods. The Metrology Technician IV reports to the Lab Manager and may be assigned the position of Onsite Lead as required.

Functional Responsibilities:

• Performs repairs, calibrations, and general housekeeping
• Understands the objective of calibration and how to assess results
• Proficient in all areas of calibration performed in the lab; requires minimal supervision to perform calibrations in these areas in the lab or at customer sites
• May be assigned the position of Onsite Lead as required
• Understands ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540 requirements as they relate to the calibration process and is able to generate uncertainty budgets
• Able to create calibration procedures for new equipment and recommend improvements to current calibration procedures and methods as necessary
• Keeps the Lab Manager informed of any equipment status changes that would affect its delivery
• Reports any problems or improvements needed to the Lab Manager
• Must be aware of the relevance and importance of their activities and how they contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the management system

This is an Onsite role based in Webster, TX.

This position is eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus, paid after successful completion of the 90-day performance period. Relocation assistance is considered on a case-by-case basis.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum Experience: Minimum 10 years' experience in calibration or a related field. Reports to the Lab Manager.

• NCSLI certification
