Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking a metrology specialist to plan and execute detailed measurement surveys using Photogrammetry, Total Stations, Laser Trackers, and CMMs. You will analyze data and contribute to reliability studies supporting naval shipbuilding projects.

The role involves coordinating with engineering teams, developing measurement methods, and potentially enhancing 3D software with Visual Basic.

Qualifications

A program graduation certificate from an approved institution may be substituted for an Apprentice Certification, Associate's degree or other 2 year technical degree in relavent field and 3 years of related experience.
2 years of related experience can be substituted for Associate 's degree.
4 years of non-related experience can be substituted for Associate 's degree.

Responsibilities

Perform measurement surveys using Photogrammetry, Total Stations, Laser Trackers, CMMs.
Analyze collected data and prepare end-user reports.
Develop technical reliability studies and evaluate engineering designs.
Recommend metrology methods to improve product reliability.
May use Visual Basic to enhance 3D measurement software.
