Job summary

Electroimpact is seeking a Metrology Technician to support assembly, alignment, and quality control across aerospace projects using advanced measurement technologies. The role requires attention to detail, strong technical aptitude, and effective communication within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities include collecting data, operating laser trackers and scanners, inspecting parts, interpreting drawings, and contributing to process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Operations Management required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and engineering drawings a plus.
  • Experience using CAD software.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, measurement uncertainty, quality systems, or manufacturing process improvement a plus.

  • Collect, analyze, and present measurement data from various sources.
  • Operate, maintain, and manage precision measurement equipment, including laser trackers, scanners, and manual inspection tools.
  • Support assembly alignment, machine installation, commissioning, and training activities.
  • Perform part and assembly inspections in accordance with customer and company requirements.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, models and specifications.
  • Assist with development and improvement of quality and measurement processes.
  • Support internal R&D and continuous improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to solve technical challenges.
  • Travel to local, domestic, and international customer sites as required.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Metrology Technician to join our team. This role supports assembly, alignment, and quality control activities across a variety of aerospace projects using advanced measurement technologies and precision equipment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to details, technical aptitude, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively on multidisciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect, analyze, and present measurement data from various sources

  • Support assembly alignment, machine installation, commissioning, and training activities

Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
  • Associate degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Operations Management required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Familiarity with GD&T and engineering drawings a plus
  • Experience using CAD software
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, measurement uncertainty, quality systems, or manufacturing process improvement a plus
Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of machine shop hand tools and their proper use
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Desired Skills:
  • Experience using precision measurement tools
  • Understanding of common metrology and inspection techniques
  • Programming experience with Python, VBA, C#, PLCs, or other similar tools
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., to waist height frequently
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, climb and work around manufacturing equipment for extended periods
  • Ability to work in both office and shop environments
  • Flexible hours and overtime as needed
  • Pay: $30 - $35 per hour DOE
