Job summary

Sterling Engineering in Columbus, OH, is seeking an experienced metrology specialist to calibrate robotic welding systems and align rails, robots, and tooling. You will work with FARO Vantage laser trackers and PolyWorks to ensure dimensional accuracy across North America.

Responsibilities include performing robot calibration with RoboDK and Yaskawa teach pendants, verifying tolerances, documenting results, and traveling to customer sites (60–70%).

Qualifications

• 5+ years of metrology experience.
• Hands-on experience with FARO Vantage or FARO ION laser trackers.
• Strong PolyWorks experience.
• Experience calibrating industrial robots.
• RoboDK experience preferred.
• Yaskawa/Motoman teach pendant experience preferred.
• Ability to interpret GD&T and dimensional tolerances.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent documentation and reporting.
• Comfortable traveling 60-70%.
