Job summary

Anduril Industries in Santa Ana, CA is seeking a Metrology Specialist to join our advanced maritime manufacturing team. You will develop automated CMM inspection routines, create alignment strategies for laser trackers, and analyze dimensional data to drive manufacturing improvements within our AS9100 system.

You will collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers, interpret GD&T on complex drawings, and contribute to quality assurance through SPC, CAPA, and documentation of procedures.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in manufacturing, quality, or metrology engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Aerospace or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong proficiency in interpreting GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Hands-on experience with PC-DMIS or Polyworks; ability to learn other platforms.
• Experience in a QMS environment (AS9100/ISO 9001).
• Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, program, and execute inspection routines for CMMs (PC-DMIS/Polyworks).
• Analyze inspection data and perform root-cause analysis; support SPC initiatives.
• Provide DFM/DFI feedback to Design/Manufacturing Engineers.
• Create inspection plans from drawings and 3D models to validate GD&T.
• Generate inspection reports and present findings to cross-functional teams.
• Support metrology SOP documentation within AS9100 QMS.
• Maintain metrology equipment calibration; evaluate new measurement tech.
