Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks an experienced Metrology Specialist to program, optimize, and lead complex inspections across across multiple metrology platforms. You will develop inspection programs, troubleshoot measurement issues, and mentor teammates in a high-precision lab environment.

The role involves building fixtures, collaborating with Quality Engineering, and ensuring compliance with AS9100/ISO 17025 while supporting rapid, reliable data acquisition and analysis for defense-grade components.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of metrology experience, including programming CMMs.
• Hands-on experience with at least three different types of metrology equipment (CMMs, laser trackers, portable CMMs, CT scanners, etc.).
• Proficiency with CMM software; Calypso or PolyWorks preferred (PC-DMIS/Verisurf acceptable).
• Excellent understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience designing and building holding fixtures for CMMs.
• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment (micrometers, height gauges, etc.).
• Strong analytical skills and communication abilities; ability to obtain/maintain U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate metrology equipment to validate parts meet requirements.
• Write, debug, and optimize inspection programs to improve accuracy and cycle time.
• Troubleshoot complex measurement issues and resolve process-level problems.
• Design, build, and validate CMM holding fixtures.
• Collaborate with Quality Engineering for root cause analysis and problem-solving.
• Define best-practice inspection and reporting strategies with cross-functional teams.
• Maintain and improve lab equipment and processes, reducing downtime and ensuring data reliability.
• Train and mentor team members on measurement techniques.
• Help ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO 17025 standards.
