Job summary

Dorman Products in Colmar, PA is seeking an Associate Metrology Specialist to join our Engineering Services team. You will perform data collection, complex dimensional inspections, calibrations, and material identification using CMMs (FARO), laser scanners, optical systems, and hand tools.

This onsite role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, and includes developing detailed inspection reports, maintaining calibration records, and training associate technicians.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel is required.
• Familiarity with vehicle systems preferred.
• GD&T analysis in CMM software and interpreting drawings required.
• Basic familiarity with Solidworks for inspection prep.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for evaluation by technicians or specialists.
• Use appropriate equipment to obtain measurements.
• Document results in standard reports and observations.
• Communicate inspection results to engineers and Metrology Lab Manager.
• Maintain calibration records for inspection equipment.
• Follow 5S practices to keep a lean work environment.
• Provide training to associate level technicians.
• Develop and implement new test methods and procedures.
