Job summary

Dorman is seeking an Associate Metrology Specialist to join our Engineering Services department in support of metrology lab functions including data collection, complex dimensional inspections, calibrations, and material identification. You will use laser scanners, FARO CMMs, optical systems, and hand tools to create detailed inspection reports for product development and quality control.

This on-site role at our Philadelphia suburb headquarters (Colmar, PA) runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM

Qualifications

Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Familiarity with vehicle systems preferred.
Familiarity with GD&T analysis in CMM software and interpreting technical drawings required.
Basic familiarity with 3D modeling software (Solidworks) to prepare CAD models for inspection.
Documented problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to new inspection methods.
Documented organizational and time-management skills.
Physical requirement: lift 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

Utilize lab best practices to prepare sample parts for evaluation by Technicians or Specialists.
Identify and use the appropriate equipment to obtain required measurements.
Document results in standard report formats and record observations made during testing.
Effectively communicate results of complex inspections to Engineers and Metrology Lab Manager.
Maintain and manage calibration records for a variety of dimensional inspection equipment.
Maintain a lean environment using 5S practices.
Provide training and guidance to associate level Technicians.
Develop and implement new test methods and procedure documentation.
