Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Tier 3 Metrology Senior Technician to support government projects onsite. You will develop and maintain metrology policies, manage calibration schedules, and oversee processes to meet customer mission objectives with efficiency.

You will apply metrology techniques and calibration lab practices, stay current with ANSI/NCSL Z540 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards, and collaborate with vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in metrology or related field.
• 5+ years of Tier 3 metrology experience.
• Proficiency in metrology techniques, software, and calibration lab practices.
• Security clearance TS/SCI with polygraph; US citizenship is required.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

• As a Tier 3 Metrology Technician, the work you’ll do at GDIT supports the mission of our customer.
• Develops and maintains metrology policies and procedures and ensures they support customer mission requirements and objectives.
• Manages the development and administration of metrology schedule and calibration requirements; may have budget responsibilities.
• Keeps well-informed of new metrology technologies and industry best practices and trends and then plans and advises for implementation.
• Familiar with American National Standards for Calibration including ANSI/NCSL Z540, ANS/ISO/IEC 17025
• Maintains knowledge of relevant Metrology/PMEL techniques and Calibration laboratory practices
• Proficiency in the use of MS Office suite and familiarity of Fluke MET/Team, Fluke MET/CAL, Keysight TME, and other tools and equipment
• Oversee metrology process to meet customer mission objectives effectively and economically.
• Manages vendor relationships and billing reconciliations.
• Provides guidance and solutions to ensure metrology needs align with customer mission requirements.
• Participates in special metrology projects as required.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical education, training, expertise, and experience in metrology and calibration
• Experience: 5+ years of related Tier 3 level metrology experience
• Technical skills: metrology techniques, metrology software, and metrology laboratory calibration of various test and measurement equipment assets and tools
• Security clearance level: TS/SCI with polygraph
• US citizenship required
