Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Metrology Process Technician to support fabrication of memory and logic devices. You will work with engineers and technicians on setup, calibration, data collection, and process control to ensure quality.

The role involves monitoring equipment, performing analyses, and following SOPs. Candidates with associate degrees or relevant certifications and TPM/SPC knowledge are preferred. All shifts are possible with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or technical certification.
  • Experienced Pharmacy Tech, Dental Assistant or medical technologist or 4 years of technical military service.
  • Familiar with SPC methods and TPM concepts.
  • MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Detail oriented with customer service and teamwork focus.
  • Adherence to SOPs and ability to work off-hours.
  • Electro-mechanical aptitude and basic tools knowledge.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

In your role as a Metrology Process Technician, you'll be responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing and/or system operations, such as working with engineers and manufacturing in set-up and calibration tasks, system support, preventative maintenance, failure analysis, documenting/following standard operating procedures, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the process and production of memory chips and logic. You'll use sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct in-line adjustments to products, instruments, equipment, or processes. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:

  • Change Point Management (CPM)/System Maintenance: Follows standard operating procedures to ensure equipment/ processes/systems are running effectively.
  • Troubleshooting: Conducts failure analysis and follows scripts to troubleshoot and anticipate future failures.
  • Monitor Equipment/Process: Monitors equipment and processes in current state and proactively looks for ways to improve processes.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Able to work well in a team environment and effectively communicate throughout organization.
Skills and Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll need: Associates degree or other technical certification. Experienced Pharmacy Tech, Dental Assistant or other medical technologist (external equivalent). or 4 years equivalent technical Military service. Familiarity with SPC methods and implementation Highly capable in MS Word, Excel and Power Point Focused on continuous improvement in fast-paced, changing environment Familiar with TPM concepts Detail and task oriented and place high value on customer service, team work and flexibility. Ability to adhere to SOPs. Ability to work off-hours if necessary Electro-mechanical aptitude, Basic understanding of hand tools, pneumatics, and electricity

The current base salary range for this role is between $18.60/hour - $60.40/hour. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.

Night Shifts Include
  • B Shift – Sunday through Tuesday (6:45pm – 7:15am) with alternating Saturdays
  • D Shift – Wednesday through Friday (6:45pm – 7:15am) with alternating Saturdays
