Job summary

Raytheon in Tucson, AZ seeks an Engineering Section Manager to lead the Metrology Engineering Team, oversee calibration methods, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with Raytheon and government standards.

You will manage staffing, develop processes, and collaborate across engineering, operations, quality, and programs to maintain calibration readiness and minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with test equipment maintenance, product test or quality in a manufacturing environment.
• Leadership experience in a technical environment.
• Ability to obtain interim Secret U.S government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary metrology engineering team and support calibration technicians and maintenance staff.
• Manage staffing, training, performance development and labor forecasting.
• Maintain and improve processes for equipment classification, asset lifecycle, scheduling and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality and programs to ensure test readiness and minimize downtime.
• Serve as accountable owner for metrology standards, procedures and technical decisions.
• Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 and Raytheon QMS.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce turnaround time and increase data accuracy.
• Oversee supplier engagement for external calibration or repair vendors.
