Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking a Metrology Engineer to support prototype powertrain components at the Detroit Powertrain Test Center. You will help develop measurement methods, analyze data, and document results to uphold quality and validation objectives.

The role offers exposure to metrology systems, software, and continuous improvement in collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams. Detroit, MI-based onsite position with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field;0-3 years in metrology or quality.
• Basic knowledge of metrology, manufacturing, quality systems, and engineering principles.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, GD&T, dimensional inspection, and statistical analysis concepts.
• Basic CAD experience (Siemens NX, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Ability to analyze data and communicate technical information effectively.

Responsibilities

• Support metrology activities related to prototype powertrain components.

• Assist in establishing measurement methods that promote precision, repeatability, and reproducibility.
• Collect, analyze, and document measurement data and prepare reports for engineering teams.
• Assist with calibration, maintenance, and verification of measurement equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and quality teams throughout product development and validation.
