Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking a Metrology Engineer to support prototype powertrain metrology activities at the Detroit Powertrain Test Center. You will help develop measurement methods, analyze data, and document results to support quality and validation objectives.

Work with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to implement measurement systems and improve processes. The role offers growth in metrology, quality assurance, and product validation within a leading trucking

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/CS or related field required.
• 0-3 years of engineering, metrology, or quality experience preferred.
• Familiarity with GD&T, dimensional inspection, and statistical analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement measurement methodologies, fixtures, and procedures.
• Collect, analyze, and document measurement data with reports for engineering teams.
• Assist calibration, maintenance, and verification of measurement equipment.
• Collaborate with product engineering, quality, and manufacturing to meet validation goals.
• Create and maintain work instructions, procedures, and documentation.
• Evaluate new measurement technologies and provide onsite validation support.
• Support safety, 5S, and continuous improvement in metrology activities.
