Job summary

Zoetis Inc. in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Lab Metrology Engineer to ensure accuracy and reliability of measurement equipment in a cGxP environment.

You will calibrate instruments, review colleagues’ work, and manage SAP CMMS assets while coordinating with vendors and supporting calibration programs. Ideal candidates have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to travel up to 5% to support field and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physics, Metrology, Engineering, or comparable advanced metrology/calibration training and certifications.
• Strong knowledge of measurement principles, statistical analysis, and calibration techniques.
• Experience with laboratory instruments including EMS, balances, pipettes, multimeters, thermometers, and optical devices.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team, with strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel up to 5% and lift equipment up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform calibration, verification, and validation of lab instruments and EMS.
• Install, commission, and implement REES nodes, temperature probes, and CO2 sensors.
• Maintain calibration schedules and records compliant with regulatory requirements.
• Review and approve calibration work of teammates and vendors.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose measurement equipment and coordinate servicing.
• Develop and implement procedures for proper handling, storage, and usage of standards and reference materials.
• Participate in selection and procurement of new metrology equipment and assess technical specs.
• Serve as SME for SAP CMMS, including day-to-day use, asset management, and work orders.
• Provide managers with visibility into upcoming work, metrics, and workload.
