Job summary

MnDOT is seeking a strategic Metro District Engineer to lead the Metro District, overseeing eight counties in the Twin Cities region. You will set direction, align district goals with statewide priorities, and guide a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, reliable multimodal transportation.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a professional engineer with AELSLAGID; comity path acceptable with temporary permit or registration.
• Three years executive leadership at office/division level or five years at assistant level.
• Cover letter summarizing leadership, policy, and stakeholder experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Metro District to set strategic direction and align with statewide priorities.
• Ensure multidisciplinary team is organized to operate and maintain safe, reliable multimodal transportation.
• Build and maintain relationships with legislators, local governments, tribal nations and the public.
• Drive innovative project delivery and cost-effective transportation initiatives.
