Job summary

The City of North Port seeks a Meter Reader to accurately read water and reuse meters, perform minor repairs, and process service orders. You will use handheld devices and IPad entry, maintain logs, and uphold a positive public image.

Strong math, communication, and teamwork are essential; valid Florida driver’s license required with potential to obtain a Level III Water Distribution License within two years.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of field work experience, preferably meter reading.

Responsibilities

• Read water and reuse water meters daily, manually or with handheld devices.
• Complete service orders including turn on/off and metering verifications.
• Maintain daily truck log and vehicle cleanliness.
• Educate customers on meter reading, water usage and conservation.
• Follow safety guidelines and establish SOPs.
