Eugene Water & Electric Board is seeking a strong, team-oriented Meter Relay TechnicianorTrainee to install, test and commission, troubleshoot and maintain transmission, distribution, generation, and substation protective relaying systems and auxiliary equipment controls including voltageregulators, governors, synchronizers,revenue meters,reclosers, automatic transfer switches.This position is instrumental inmaintainingreliable protection systems for the community.
Work Schedule:4-10’s,Monday – Thursday 6:30AM- 5:00PM. Automated call out system, to call for emergency responseand storm damage restoration.
Daily contact with EWEB employees andgeneral public.
The startinghourly wagefor the position is $70.4256 - $77.3908.
This position is subject to the terms, conditions, and benefits of EWEB's collective bargaining agreement with the IBEW Local 659.
Experience : Meter Relay Trainee:Must have completed a three-year,state-approvedapprenticeship in anelectricaldiscipline or equivalent Electric Utility experience.
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Desirable education, experience,trainingand certifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering .
Professional license or registration: None

Apprenticeship or other education/trainingrequiredas a condition of employment,progressionor advancement: Must obtain a First Aid/CPRCard.If hired as a Trainee,must complete EWEB-approved three-year meter relay training program toattainjourney status.
