Base pay range

$17.00/hr - $22.00/hr

Meter Reader (Temporary Position)

Location: New London, CT 06320

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Duration: 2-Month Contract

Pay Rate: $17 – $22/hour

About the Role:

We’re looking for a Meter Reader to join our team on a short-term basis. If you enjoy working outdoors, walking, and have a valid driver’s license, this could be a great fit! You’ll be responsible for reading utility meters across a defined route using company-provided technology and equipment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Walk 5–8 miles per day while reading meters across various neighborhoods and businesses
• Enter and exit business properties, residential yards, and other areas to access meters
• Carry and operate company-issued tools, including:
• Smartphone with app
• Bluetooth belt-clip device that connects to the mobile app
• Drive a Company-provided fleet vehicle to different meter-reading zones throughout the day

What You’ll Need:

• Valid driver’s license (driving a company vehicle is part of the job)
• Ability and willingness to walk extensively in varying weather conditions
• Comfortable accessing both business and residential properties
• Dependability, attention to detail, and a good sense of direction
