You will work with meteorologists, data scientists, traders, and asset management professionals to evaluate forecast performance and assist in operational decisions. This internship offers hands-on experience and professional development in energy forecasting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Experience with meteorological or technical data.
• Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft 365.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Self-motivated and able to prioritize in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze historical weather forecasts and observed data to identify forecast biases and areas for improvement.
• Evaluate the effects of local, regional, and large-scale weather variability on renewable energy production and electricity market pricing.
• Support communication of forecast conditions, confidence levels, and uncertainty factors for operational decisions.
• Conduct daily reviews of asset and forecast performance and report significant weather events.
• Assist with development, validation, and enhancement of forecasting tools, methodologies, and performance metrics.
• Analyze meteorological datasets and support routine reporting on weather-driven business impacts.
• Collaborate across Data Science, Asset Management, Operations, and Trading teams on forecasting and market analysis.
• Develop reports, dashboards, visualizations, and presentations to communicate forecast performance and insights.
• Research forecasting technologies and industry best practices, and contribute to special projects in meteorology and energy forecasting.
