Job summary

Environmental Laboratory Network In is seeking a laboratory technician to perform sample preparation and analysis in accordance with established methods and SOPs, including metals analysis by ICP-OES/ICP-MS, hexavalent chromium by ICs, and metals by Flame AA.

You will ensure QA compliance, maintain cleanliness, and record data in LIMS, while performing calibrations and routine maintenance of pH meters and analytical balances. Collaboration with teammates under supervisor guidance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample preparation and analysis in compliance with methods and SOPs.
• Maintain quality control to assure analytical accuracy and precision of test results.
• Compile and record data onto worksheets, logs, and forms; perform calculations and data entry into LIMS.
• Maintain a clean work area, bench space, equipment, glassware, and instruments.
• Perform calibrations and maintenance of instruments and support equipment (pH meters, analytical balances).
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and work effectively in a team under supervision.

• Perform sample preparation and analysis in compliance with associated methods and SOPS in one or more of the following areas:
  • Metals using ICP-OES or ICP-MS (EPA 6010, 6020, 200.7, and 200.8)
  • Hexavalent Chrome using ICs (EPA 7199)
  • Metals using Flame AA
• Perform analyses in compliance with technical requirements, Quality Assurance policies, and all Health, Safety and Environmental Management requirements.
• Maintains quality control to assure analytical accuracy and precision of test results.
• Compiles and records onto standardized worksheets, logs, and forms, performs calculations and data entry into LIMS.
• Maintains a clean work area including laboratory bench space, equipment, glassware, and instruments.
• Perform calibrations and instrumentation repairs and maintenance including support equipment such as pH meters and analytical balances.
• Establishes and maintains good working relationships with co-workers, and works effectively in a team environment, while performing all duties assigned by immediate supervisor.
