Job summary

EnergySolutions is seeking a capable Radiological Materials Handler to join our Oak Ridge operations. The role focuses on loading, sorting, packaging, and transporting radioactive and non-radioactive materials in strict accordance with procedures.

Safety is paramount: you will wear PPE, follow health physics regulations, and maintain detailed logs and shipment records. A high school diploma and OSHA/Hazwoper certifications are required, with experience preferred in waste processing and material

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certifications: Forklift and crane operating certifications; DOE Certified Rad Worker II and respirator qualified; Hazwoper 24 hour and RCRA qualified; PIV/confined space preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year; 4 years preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Load, pack, and inspect materials for transportation.
  • Operate machinery and forklift; follow procedures.
  • Maintain logs, manifests, and shipment documentation.
  • Ensure safety rules and PPE usage.
  • Conduct facility rounds and ensure quality of containment.
  • Transport materials and prepare bills of lading.
