Job summary

Superior Metals Manufacturing in Chittenango, NY, is seeking a Materials Lab Technician. You will perform chemical analysis and testing on metal samples to certify products, develop new alloys, and support metallurgical work. Responsibilities include sample prep, blueprint interpretation, and ensuring results meet specifications.

Responsibilities cover lab operations, data management, and reporting to customers. Strong math/chemistry background and AS in Material Science or Chemistry preferred.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school diploma with a good mathematical and chemical background.
• AS in Material Science or Chemistry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate lab instrumentation and produce product certifications.
• Identify alloy samples and ensure results fall within specifications.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and repair when possible.
• Maintain data, forms, and reports per work instructions.
• Prepare samples for chemical analysis and related tests.
