Job summary

Silk Road Technologies Canada seeks a Metallurgical Lab Technician to analyze metallic specimens, determining yield strength, tensile strength, elongation, hardness, microstructure, and more at our Elkton, MI site.

You will verify heat treatment, prepare samples, run Rockwell and profilometer tests, maintain test schedules, and document inspections while upholding TS 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 compliance.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED; or 1–3 years related experience.
• Ability to read/understand IATF16949, ISO9001:2015, ISO-14001 procedures.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic cooperation, commitment and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Verify heat treatment effectiveness per customer standards.
• Prepare metallurgical samples for analysis.
• Perform Rockwell, 3MA, and profilometer tests.
• Maintain test schedule for furnace chambers and die cavities.
• Complete inspection documents as requested.
• Use measurement tools and lab equipment.
• Communicate quality issues to supervisor and team.
• Collect SPC data.
• Perform GR&R studies.
