Job summary

NMS Labs is seeking a Metals Lab Assistant I in Horsham, PA. This on-site role supports specimen preparation, batch organization and reagent work, assisting metals analysis and ensuring timely testing.

Responsibilities include aliquoting specimens, labeling, coordinating with departments, and maintaining equipment. Requires a High School Diploma and reliable attendance; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of chain of custody procedures and proper sample handling.
• Ability to read and apply laboratory procedures and policies.
• Maintain accuracy in labeling, tracking, and sourcing samples.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to accuracy.
• Willingness to work overtime and adapt to schedule changes.

Responsibilities

• Collect and organize samples for Metals sample preparation using production management tools.
• Compile and label tubes/vials for sample preparation.
• Coordinate with testing departments to ensure timely delivery of samples and materials.
• Retrieve and transport specimens under Chain of Custody to the Metals laboratory.
• Transport batch deliveries and pickups between testing departments.
• Aliquot clinical case specimens for Metals testing according to procedures.
• Restock laboratory supplies as needed.
• Monitor equipment maintenance and respond to alerts.
• Relocate samples or QC materials when needed.
• Participate in departmental meetings and projects.
• Maintain regular attendance; perform other duties as assigned.
