Job summary
Atlas Copco Group in New Hudson, MI, is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to lead metallurgical testing in the met lab in support of rivet manufacturing. You will inspect raw materials, perform tensile, hardness, metallographic work, and interpret microstructures to drive quality improvements.
You will use Syspro to update inspections, assist in root cause analyses, and maintain lab cleanliness and safety.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; associate degree or related experience valued.
- Experience with metallurgical inspection equipment is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to read measurements precisely.
Responsibilities
- Inspect raw material and rivet manufacturing processes for quality.
- Perform laboratory testing: tensile strength, Rockwell/micro-hardness, metallographic prep.
- Prepare microstructures and interpret results for root cause analysis.
- Update receiving/in-process inspections in Syspro as required.
- Assist in investigations of quality issues and field failures.
