Job summary

Multimatic is seeking a Second Shift Quality Inspector in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The role focuses on inspecting MIG welds, performing Cut & Etch tests, hardness testing, and maintaining in-process inspection records.

You will prepare samples, capture measurements with computer software, and report discrepancies while supporting the Quality Department.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma or GED.
• Two years of general or specific experience in this field preferred.
• Must be able to work in a second shift and travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for Cut & Etch: Plasma Cutting, Wet Saw, Polishing & Etching.
• Perform destructive Cut & Etch testing on production MIG welds.
• Capture images and measure weld features using computerized software.
• Perform Rockwell hardness testing as required.
• Perform destructive & non-destructive testing on Resistance Spot welds and Resistance Projection nuts/studs.
• Manage Discrepant Weld Reports including emailing and the generation/data entry/ and saving of reports in Excel.
• Document, File and Maintain in-process inspection reports.
• Assist others as assigned.
• Conduct oneself in a professional and technical manner that positively impacts the Quality Department and MNH as a whole
