Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation seeks a Metallurgical Engineer to provide daily technical support for Mill Operations and Heap Leach, focusing on troubleshooting and reagent usage optimization. This role supervises metallurgical technicians and may step in for the Senior Metallurgist.

You will lead metallurgical testing, monitor performance, and develop lab/plant test programs to enhance metallurgical performance, recovery, and costs, while delivering monthly reports and ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in metallurgical engineering or related field or equivalent work experience required.
• Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
• Production-oriented, self-starter with good time management.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily technical support to Mill Operations and Heap Leach for troubleshooting metallurgical problems.
• Fills in for the Senior Metallurgist and assumes responsibility for refinery operation and metal production.
• Responsible for metallurgical testing, monitoring, control, and optimization of the operation.
• Develop lab and plant test programs to improve metallurgical performance.
• Monitor and evaluate metallurgical performance of mill designs and improve recovery, throughput, and costs.
• Prepare monthly status and final reports on metallurgical projects.
• Oversee metallurgical accounting, data collection, and reporting.
