Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation seeks a Metallurgist to support R&D and site-wide metallurgical optimization. You will perform sampling, bench-scale tests, and scale-up to plant trials, while guiding improvements in recovery, throughput, and process stability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience preferred; entry-level considered.
• Experience with heap leach operations and flotation circuits preferred.
• Strong understanding of metallurgical and engineering principles applied to mineral processing.
• Proficient with PC-based software and data analysis.
• Must be authorized to work full-time in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Conduct plant sampling surveys and analyze metallurgical samples; develop recommendations for process improvement.
• Perform laboratory-scale metallurgical testing and scale up test results to plant trials.
• Provide metallurgical support by troubleshooting issues and recommending corrective actions.
• Plan and drive small- to medium-scale metallurgical projects with cross-functional teams.
• Perform economic evaluations and cost-benefit analyses for improvements.
• Maintain metallurgical accounting for inventories and process streams.
