Job summary

Origin Mining Company, LLC is seeking a Metallurgist to oversee safe, efficient processing operations at the Mineral Park copper-molybdenum mine in Arizona. You will optimize heap leach performance, coordinate with mining teams, and manage costs, inventory, and metallurgical accounting.

The role requires 3+ years in copper heap leaching, strong knowledge of SX-EW and milling/flotation, and excellent communication and organizational skills. Local operations experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering preferred.
• 3+ years of practical operating experience with copper heap leaching, including supervising/training.
• Good knowledge of copper extraction unit operations (heap leach, SX-EW, milling/flotation).
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to learn, manage, and maintain necessary systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong work ethic and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Safety, Environmental, and Community: ensure safety training compliance; coordinate with EMG safety; support community engagement.
• Production: direct production targets; interface with mining/geology; forecast and reconcile output; develop stacking plans and irrigation cycles for heap leach.
• Optimization and Cost Management: troubleshoot operations; improve recoveries and efficiency; coordinate with consultants and labs; manage process costs and identify savings.
• Metal Budget and Inventory: maximize productivity while controlling costs; monitor consumables; document reagents and inventory with accounting.
• Reporting: provide weekly, monthly, and annual production updates; report processing parameters and trends.
