Job summary

Beehive Industries seeks a Metallurgical Technician, Contractor, to advance metallographic prep and validation of additively produced metals and aerospace parts. You will prepare samples, section, mount, polish, etch, image, and analyze materials with optical and SEM systems.

You will conduct hardness testing, document results, and help maintain a compliant, safe lab environment while supporting multiple manufacturing areas as priorities shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two-year degree from an accredited college/technical school with science/engineering orientation or equivalent experience preferred.
• 2+ years of laboratory experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently or in a team with strong communication and prioritization.
• Able to obtain and maintain U.S. government security clearance (US Citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process metallic samples for microscopic examination in support of additive manufacturing.
• Section, mount, polish, etch, and image parts for metallography.
• Operate optical and scanning electron microscopes for image analysis.
• Perform metallic powder testing such as size analysis and chemistry.
• Conduct hardness and microhardness testing.
• Document results and generate reports for analysis.
• Maintain lab equipment and housekeeping; procure consumables.
• Develop and optimize standard operating procedures for efficient execution.
• Promote safe practices in the metallographic lab.
