Job summary

Atlas Copco in New Hudson, MI, is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to perform metallurgical and materials testing in the met lab in support of rivet manufacturing. You will report to the Quality Assurance Supervisor and ensure accurate inspection of raw materials and production processes.

The role requires hands-on experience with metallurgical equipment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to stop production when necessary.

Qualifications

Hands on experience with metallurgical inspection equipment such as tensile/hardness testers and metallography.
Strong attention to detail and accurate measurement reading.
Ability to stop production in a professional manner when required.
Self-motivated with goal orientation and accountability.
Good interpersonal and communication skills to work with the team.
Knowledge of Syspro and QDA is a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

Inspect raw materials and rivet manufacturing processes for quality.
Perform laboratory testing including tensile strength and hardness measurements.
Prepare metallographic samples and interpret microstructures.
Enter data into QDA and update inspection systems.
Assist in root-cause analysis for quality issues in production.
Maintain met lab cleanliness and safety compliance.
Shut down production when necessary and directed by supervisors.
