Job summary

Plasma Processes LLC is seeking a metallurgical lab technician to prepare metallurgical specimens by sectioning, mounting and polishing for analysis. The role includes operating a light microscope, performing microhardness tests and using image analysis software to characterize microstructures.

Two or more years in a low to medium volume metallurgical laboratory are preferred. Strong computer and measurement tool skills are required, with emphasis on precision instrumentation as part of daily

Qualifications

• Proficiency with computers and software used for data collection and analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements.
• Experience using calipers and micrometers for accurate dimensioning.

Responsibilities

• Section, mount and polish metallurgical specimens.
• Clean and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Operate lab equipment safely.
• Use light microscope and digital camera for imaging and analysis.
• Run microhardness tests (Vickers/Rockwell) and record results.
• Maintain an inventory of standard supplies and a sample logbook.
• Read and follow work instructions and meet daily deadlines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
