Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering field.
• Proven commitment to industrial or laboratory safety in a manufacturing setting.
• High attention to detail and ability to follow precise procedures.
• Strong communication to collaborate with shop floor personnel and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with plant operators to safely gather steel strip and fabricated metal samples from the manufacturing floor.
• Prepare metallurgical specimens by sectioning, mounting, and polishing for evaluation.
• Conduct laboratory analyses and light optical microscopy to support investigations and quality checks.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration of tools to high standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and metallurgists to support development, improvements, and production trials.
