Job summary

Linde Advanced Material Technologies Inc. in North Haven, CT, is seeking a Met Lab Technician for the 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM). Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must complete Linde Metallurgical Technician Training and maintain certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of related lab experience in metallurgical work.
• Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to pass a vision test.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and evaluate cubicle qualification samples (Tab samples).
• Prepare and evaluate sample parts and customer hardware (Part cut ups) and evaluate physical properties (e.g. hardness – micro and macro).
• Perform set-ups and operate a variety of standard lab equipment per prescribed methods.
• Calibrate and maintain lab equipment as required.
• Order all Met Lab supplies including polishing suspensions and grit paper.
• Perform quality evaluations of standard coatings and report results to appropriate individuals.
• Keep accurate record keeping for all of the above.
