Job summary

Linde Advanced Material Technologies Inc. in North Haven, CT is seeking a Metallurgical Lab Technician for 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM). You will prepare and evaluate tab samples, parts, and coatings, and maintain lab equipment.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of Linde Metallurgical Technician Training, plus strong Lab experience. You will also handle ordering of lab supplies, maintain thorough records, and report findings to the team.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must complete Linde Metallurgical Technician Training and maintain certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ related lab experience with coatings/metallurgy.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must pass a vision test.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and evaluate cubicle qualification samples (Tab samples).
  • Prepare and evaluate sample parts and customer hardware; perform part cut ups and evaluate physical properties (Hardness – Micro/Macro).
  • Set up and operate standard lab equipment per prescribed methods; calibrate and maintain lab equipment.
  • Order Met Lab supplies (polishing suspensions, grit paper, etc.).
  • Perform quality evaluations of standard coatings and report results; keep accurate records.

What you will enjoy doing*


  • You will prepare and evaluate cubicle qualification samples (Tab samples)

  • Further you will also prepare and evaluate sample parts and customer hardware (Part cut ups) and prepare and evaluate physical properties (e.g. Hardness – Micro and Macro)

  • You will perform set-ups, and operate a variety of standard lab equipment, while adhering to prescribed methods of operation

  • You will calibrate and maintain lab equipment is required in this role

  • Moreover you will order all Met Lab supplies including polishing suspensions, grit paper, etc.

  • You will perform quality evaluations of standard coatings in a timely manner, identifying problem areas and reporting results to appropriate individuals

  • You will keep accurate record keeping for all of the above
