6 Degrees Search is seeking a Metallurgical Engineer to be a hands-on castings engineer, applying metallurgical expertise to develop large alloy castings for aerospace, defense, petrochemical, and industrial markets.

You will join a nine-member metallurgist team, with strong growth opportunities and a culture that values safety and individual development. Must be a U.S. citizen due to defense work requirements.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering or related field.
• At least 2 years in foundry or casting operations.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with casting processes and metallurgical principles.
• Excellent communications and customer engagement.

Aufgaben

• Improve alloy performance and casting processes in lab or shop floor.
• Support melting, casting, heat treatment, and finishing.
• Review customer specs, purchase orders, and technical requirements.
• Analyze metallurgical data, microstructures, and mechanical properties.
• Troubleshoot quality and production challenges via root cause analysis.
• Lead process improvement focusing on safety, quality, delivery, cost.
• Support alloy improvement and manufacturing optimization projects.
