Job summary

Hire Consulting Services seeks a hands-on Metallurgical Engineer to apply metallurgical skills to large alloy castings for aerospace, defense, petrochemical, and industrial markets.

You will join a 9-person metallurgist team, work on improving alloy performance, casting processes and product quality, and support melting, heat treatment, and finishing operations while reviewing customer specifications and delivering robust technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering or closely related field required.
• Strong knowledge of metallurgy, materials science and casting processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication with customers on technical matters.
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in office and production environments.

Responsibilities

• Improve alloy performance, casting processes and product quality from lab or shop floor.
• Support melting, casting, heat treatment and finishing operations.
• Review customer specifications and technical requirements.
• Analyze metallurgical data, microstructures and mechanical properties.
• Troubleshoot quality and production challenges through root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with operations, quality, engineering, sales and customers to deliver solutions.
• Prepare technical reports, certifications and customer documentation.
