Job summary

MDS Staffing is seeking a Metallurgical Engineer to be a hands-on castings engineer, leveraging metallurgical skills to develop large alloy castings for aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. You will join a team of 9 Metallurgists and contribute to growth while upholding a strong safety culture.

Due to defense-related work, U.S. citizenship is required. The role blends lab/shop floor work with analytical reporting and collaboration with operations, quality, and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in foundry, casting operation, or metals manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of metallurgy, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with customers on technical matters.

Responsibilities

• Improve alloy performance, casting processes, and product quality in lab or shop floor.
• Support melting, casting, heat treatment, and finishing operations.
• Review customer specifications and technical requirements.
