Job summary

ATI in Irvine, CA is seeking a Metallurgical Engineer (Engineer II) to advance materials applications, forged products and manufacturing technologies using fundamentals of materials science and engineering. The role involves evaluating customer inquiries and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet requirements.

You will partner with Sales, Manufacturing and Quality Assurance to troubleshoot issues, support proposals, and present progress to senior leadership while ensuring projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong MS Office proficiency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly motivated, organized, and collaborative team member.

Responsibilities

• Provide metallurgical guidance and apply materials science fundamentals to design and production processes.
• Plan and develop technology assessment programs to improve productivity and quality.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to qualify new materials.
• Plan and execute production-type projects under contract.
• Coordinate project deliverables across locations and report progress.
• Present project updates to senior leadership within budget.
• Support sales, engineering, and manufacturing with metallurgical expertise during visits and meetings.
