Job summary

ATI is seeking a Metallurgical Engineer (Engineer II) in Irvine, CA. You will apply materials science fundamentals to support process design, forged product technology, and manufacturing improvements. Collaboration with sales, manufacturing, and quality assurance is essential to troubleshoot and meet customer requirements.

You will assist in technology development programs, coordinate cross-location projects, and communicate progress to leadership while maintaining budgets and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong computer competency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Highly motivated, organized with the ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing technical input and metallurgical guidance with fundamentals of materials science for process design and production execution.
• Plan and work on technology assessment and development programs to improve productivity, quality, and forged product performance.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers and internal teams to develop or qualify new materials supporting market growth.
• Plan and execute production-type special projects under contract with commercial or governmental customers.
• Coordinate and guide project deliverables across locations with periodic reports and meetings.
