Job summary

Thyssenkrupp in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Metallurgical Engineer to perform failure analysis on engine components and systems, conduct product audits, and provide metallurgical conformance dispositions. You will collaborate with process partners to improve metallurgical processes, evaluate new products for feasibility, and communicate results to internal customers, suppliers, and teams.

Monday–Friday 8am–4:30pm, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to self-start tasks.
• Strong customer interface and communication skills.
• Proficient technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform failure analysis on engine components and systems.
• Conduct product audits and metallurgical analysis of PPAP samples.
• Disposition components for metallurgical conformance.
• Collaborate with process partners to improve metallurgical processes and validate new suppliers.
• Evaluate new products, processes, or systems for feasibility and design compliance.
• Prepare and communicate results to internal customers, suppliers, team members, and business units.
