Job summary

Acuren Inspection, Inc. is seeking a Metallographer II to support operations in Richburg, SC. This is a high-volume lab setting with a flexible schedule, where you will perform metallurgical testing on metal samples and contribute to process improvements.

The role requires an Associate degree or equivalent and at least 3 years in a materials lab, with strong reading of technical specs and proficient English communication. You will use MS Word, Excel, Outlook and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or two years of post-high school studies in relevant technical field.
• Minimum 3 years in materials laboratory setting or materials-related field; aerospace experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed technical specifications and drawings.
• Excellent organizational skills and English communication (grammar, spelling, punctuation).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; keyboarding ~40 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Conducts microscopic, macroscopic, and other tests on metals and alloys for metallurgical control or development.
• Studies photomicrographs and microscopic examinations to determine metal characteristics.
• Interprets findings and compiles reports with drawings, charts, and graphs.
• Coordinates and participates in special tests such as end-quench hardenability, bend and tensile, and grain size tests.
