Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials NA is hiring a Warehouse Associate for the 1st shift in Smithfield, RI. The role involves fast-paced order picking, shipping/receiving, and operating around heavy machinery on the warehouse floor.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, forklift experience, and the ability to lift up to 70 lbs. A safety mindset and basic math skills are required; bilingual French/English may be needed in some contexts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. for 100 feet.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Previous forklift experience.
• Must be able to sit for long periods and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and grasping motions.
• Safety mindset.

Responsibilities

• Remove and stock product and supplies according to inventory plan.
• Select product to fill customer orders and package properly.
• Load and unload trucks and verify items are loaded/unloaded correctly.
• Pick, process and pack orders; may cut orders on Kaltenbach saw.
• Complete cycle counts.
• Identify, hold and segregate defective material.
• Complete paperwork per work instructions when required.
• Perform general clean up.
• Inspect forklift at shift start; report issues to supervisor.
• Support health, safety, ISO and 6S initiatives and requirements.
• Assist in other duties to support operation as requested.
• This position works directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.
