Job summary

HUBER Technology US is seeking a Metal Tap and Radial Arm Machine Operator for its production team. You will set up, operate, and maintain tapping and radial arm drilling equipment to fabricate metal components per engineering specs.

The role requires 1–3 years of machining experience, strong measurement skills, and adherence to safety standards. Evening shift with related PPE and a focus on quality and precision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training is a plus.
• 1–3 years experience operating metal tapping machines, radial arm drill presses, or similar machining equipment.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, metalworking techniques, and shop math.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges.
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy metal parts within safety limits.
• Knowledge of safety standards in fabrication environments.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate metal tapping machines and radial arm drilling machines according to drawings and work orders.
• Select tools, taps, drill bits, and fixtures based on material type and job specs.
• Inspect and measure components using calipers, micrometers, gauges to ensure quality.
• Adjust machine settings, feeds, and speeds for proper threading and drilling.
• Perform routine maintenance: lubrication, cleaning, tool changes.
• Monitor machine performance for wear, vibration, or misalignment.
• Handle metal workpieces safely; maintain clean, organized area and PPE compliance.
• Communicate production progress, defects, or equipment issues to supervisor and team.
• Complete production logs and quality reports as required.
• Experienced with stainless steels 304/316, duplex.
