Job summary

North American Stamping Group is seeking a Press Team Member to safely and efficiently operate stamping presses and related equipment in a manufacturing environment. You will follow NASG standards, conduct basic quality checks, and assist with setup and maintenance tasks to support production goals.

You will work within a dynamic team, follow safety procedures, and contribute ideas for process improvement through TQPS principles. Some overtime may be required to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED – or plan to obtain within 2 years.
  • Basic computer skills (email, login, run application).
  • Demonstrated basic math skills.
  • Demonstrated reading and comprehension skills.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate stamping presses safely and efficiently, including transfer system and auxiliaries.
  • Perform changeovers, adjust and start production; set up and adjust auxiliary equipment as required.
  • Maintain process parameters per die set-up; follow quality inspections and report results.
  • Use ShopEdge to verify schedule, report downtime, manage inventory and create work orders.
  • Escalate quality, production, or safety issues to team leader; maintain 5-S in work area.
  • Participate in safety, process improvement (TQPS) activities and follow PPE requirements.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Safely and efficiently operate a stamping press producing stamped parts. The primary focusbeing on safety, quality, and efficient production techniques by utilizing NASG standards andprocedures. Continuous improvement attitude with a willingness to adopt new ideas/skills usingTQPS principles. Other tasks as assigned by the team leader as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • A. Operate stamping presses as required - including Linear transfer system and all auxiliary equipment.
  • B. Changeover, adjustment & start of production at the press. Set-up and adjust auxiliary equipment as required: coil feeders, straighteners, blanks, etc.
  • C. Maintain process parameters as dictated from the die set-up sheet
  • D. Complete quality inspections and visual checks following specified instructions (using required instruments and gauges) and report results in ShopEdge. Follow non-conforming material procedure when suspect material is observed. Use ShopEdge system to verify schedule, report downtime, consume inventory, identify product with labels, create maintenance/tooling/quality work order requests.
  • E. Escalate all quality, production or safety problems to the team leader.
  • F. Complete basic equipment care maintenance activities
  • G. Perform & maintain 5-S standards in prescribed work area.
  • H. Participate in TQPS activities and suggest methods of improvement
  • I. Comply with safety requirements of work cell including use of prescribed personal protectiveequipment
  • J. Available for overtime as required.
  • K. Capable of performing all tasks identified on baseline certification (TSBC-025 and TSBC024)
  • L. Follow procedures for safety critical parts when required (NASG WI-071 D-Part)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED – or training plan to obtain within 2 years
  • Basic computer skills (email, login, run application)
  • Demonstrated basic math skills
  • Demonstrated reading and comprehension skills
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude skills

Experience:

  • 2 Years manufacturing in an assembly / manufacturing environment preferred

Personal/Technical Skills:

  • Ability to work with a dynamic and demanding team.
  • Accurate, efficient, & proactive in daily duties.
  • Ability to conduct basic maintenance or mechanical activities as required.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace.
  • Accountable - teachable - approachable

  • Always understand safety risks and capable of working safely.
  • Be a contributor to the team and generate and share ideas for improvement.

Language Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. (Will translate to Spanish in Mexicoversion)

Computer/Software:

  • Demonstrated basic computer skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / CONDITIONS

Plant:

  • Various types of manufacturing environments.
  • Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level.
  • PPE (personal protective equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, kevlar sleeves, gloves, hearing protection, etc. may be required in designated engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas. Personal attire standards may apply.
  • Involves moderate or occasional presence of some slightly disagreeable conditions, i.e., cold, dust, heat, odor, etc.

Travel:

  • Travel not routinely required
