Job summary

Sims Metal is seeking a motivated production worker at our Williamsport facility to support safe, efficient metal recycling operations. You will join a team focused on reliability, cleanliness, and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include operating safety equipment, assisting machine operators, inspecting and sorting materials, loading/unloading items, and performing routine maintenance to keep equipment in good condition.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, related experience acceptable.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 100 pounds.
• Must be able to work outside in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
• Operate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators.
• Inspect materials and sort items or materials into piles or places in bins or barrels according to type, size, condition, coloring marking or other characteristics.
• Load and unload items from machines, conveyors and conveyances.
• Clean and lubricate equipment.
• Sweeps and shovels residual waste from process.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
