Job summary

Summit Staffing, Inc. seeks an experienced Sheet Metal Programmer for laser, press brake, and robotic welding in Roanoke, TX. The hands-on role supports automated fabrication, welding cells, weld fixtures, and tube-bending processes.

Expertise with Amada/Trumpf lasers, SafanDarley/TRUMPF brakes, and Yaskawa Motoman robots is required. The successful candidate will work with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Operations to launch new products, cut scrap, and boost productivity through process

Qualifications

• 5+ years of fabrication programming and manufacturing automation experience.
• Hands-on experience programming Trumpf laser systems and related equipment.
• Experience programming SafanDarley and/or Trumpf press brakes.
• Strong experience programming Yaskawa Motoman robotic welding systems.
• Experience developing and optimizing robotic welding processes.
• Experience designing, modifying, or troubleshooting weld fixtures.
• Strong understanding of MIG welding processes and interpreting engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Create and optimize CNC programs for laser cutting systems.
• Develop efficient nesting strategies to maximize material utilization.
• Generate programs from engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Optimize cutting processes to reduce scrap and improve productivity.
• Troubleshoot laser programming and production issues.
• Utilize CAD/CAM and nesting software to support production requirements.
