Job summary

Ball Corporation seeks an Engineer for Metal & Engineering to supply project management and technical support for R&D of metal beverage container closures. You will collaborate with design, operations, and suppliers to develop new packaging and validate package integrity.

The role emphasizes stage-gate project management, IP documentation, and data-driven analysis using DOE, FMEA, and cost models. Colorado-based hybrid work model with site visits is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in engineering or related technical field; metallurgy or physics acceptable.
• Minimum of 2 years of related engineering R&D experience.
• Experience with GD&T, metrology, tool manufacture and machine design.
• Ability to collaborate with geographically dispersed teams.
• Strong multitasking, communication, and project management skills.
• Familiarity with statistical methods and data analysis.
• Experience with Microsoft Project for project tracking.

Responsibilities

• Create and document innovations for process improvement and IP development.
• Develop metal beverage closures; support R&D and tooling.
• Evaluate capital equipment and material usage for new products.
• Collaborate with design, operations, and engineering teams to optimize startups.
• Prepare engineering packages for manufacturing and QA.
• Support quality test methods, SOPs, and documentation.
