Job Title: Finisher

Job Description

This role focuses on preparing truck components for painting by performing sanding, grinding, taping, and finishing tasks, as well as supporting basic assembly and quality inspection activities in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare parts and truck components for painting by sanding, taping, and caulking surfaces to achieve a smooth, paint-ready finish.

  • Disassemble truck components, including cabs and truck bodies, to allow proper access for surface preparation and painting.

  • Grind and sand metal surfaces on parts, cabs, and truck bodies to remove imperfections and ensure proper adhesion of paint.

  • Use basic hand tools and cleaning equipment to support preparation, finishing, and general production activities.

  • Perform visual quality inspections on finished parts and components to confirm they meet required standards before and after painting.

  • Remove parts from the paint line carefully and handle them in a way that protects the finish and maintains quality.

  • Assist with general metal finishing tasks, including grinding, polishing, and surface conditioning, as needed.

  • Read and use a tape measure accurately to verify dimensions and ensure components meet specifications.

  • Support assembly and reassembly of truck components after finishing and painting processes.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow established safety and production procedures.

Essential Skills
  • At least 6 months of experience in manufacturing or an equivalent environment.

  • Ability to perform sanding, grinding, and metal finishing tasks on a variety of components.

  • Experience using basic hand tools and cleaning equipment in a production setting.

  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for measurements and quality checks.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform visual inspections to identify defects or quality issues.

  • Previous experience in auto body work or painting preparation.

  • Experience with sanding, blasting, or polishing processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in auto body finishing or paint preparation is highly beneficial.

  • Experience operating grinders and other metal finishing tools.

  • Familiarity with general production or assembly work in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to work effectively on a production line and handle repetitive tasks with attention to detail.

Work Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing environment focused on truck components and metal finishing. The standard shift runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., providing a consistent daytime schedule. You will work around production equipment such as grinders, sanding tools, and cleaning equipment, and will frequently handle metal parts, cabs, and truck bodies. The role involves standing for extended periods, performing repetitive motions such as sanding and grinding, and working in areas where paint preparation and finishing activities occur. Safety procedures and appropriate work attire, including personal protective equipment, are expected to be followed at all times to ensure a safe and efficient workplace.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
